Maryland - An American Treasure

Come discover what a trip in the United States vacation is really about. It can be a a soothing sail on the Chesapeake Bay or a quiet cabin near mountain trails even a cozy clubhouse just beyond the 18th green … Maryland says “welcome” in  many ways.
One of the world's great estuaries, Chesapeake Bay, divides Maryland into two parts. The bay is navigable, and offers a rich habitat for abundant populations of fish and wildlife. The bay and its harbors provide the right environment for migratory waterfowl, and for harvesting crabs, oysters, and clams.
During the War of 1812, Fort McHenry, sentinel of Baltimore's harbor, was bombarded with advanced weapons, including rockets, and on September 13, 1814. Francis Scott Key was so inspired as he watched the attack, that he wrote the "Star-Spangled Banner" in praise of the successful defense of the fort.

There is so much to do in Maryland that you can be assured we will  pack your days with family fun– fill your nights with entertainment that will be unforgettable.

Maryland is located adjacent to our nations capitol making it a favorite place to stay during a visit to Washington, DC.  A stay in Maryland is what vacations are meant to be.  So what are you waiting for, come see for yourself.

Every November since 1971, the Eastern Shore town of Easton hosts the Waterfowl Festival, a weekend celebration of wildlife art and Chesapeake Bay culture that benefits conservation efforts across the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. This year's festival, Nov. 9-11, features the work of more than 300 wildlife artists and artisans, specializing in painting, sculpture, carving, photography, decoys and folk art.

The festival, says the Maryland Office of Tourism, is a signature event for the exhibition of Maryland's "art of the Chesapeake" – one of the state's unique treasures.

"Chesapeake Bay art depicts the places and things that evoke the feeling of the bay region, an area known for its natural splendor, maritime culture and recreational choices," says Margot Amelia, executive director of the state tourism office.
