US VIRGIN ISLANDS - U.S. Territory
If you are looking for a true Caribbean paradise island experience, look no further than the U.S. Virgin Islands. With year-round flights from most major cities as well as an incredible diversity of activities, the US Virgin Islands or USVI for short are a favorite destination for globe trotters worldwide.
The three main islands of the USVI group are St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas, but the entire island group consists of about 50 small islands and cays. They were purchased from Denmark by the US in 1916 and are now a US territory.
St. Croix is the largest of the three and it is famous for its diverse landscape as well as its beautiful coastline and beaches. You will find a great number of resorts, and hotels big and small in St. Croix as well as casinos and great fine dining. You can rent a car and drive the full 22 mile length of St. Croix exploring both Frederiksted and Christiansted, its two major towns. This is a great place to also explore the history of the Virgin Islands as well as enjoy the island’s yearly cultural and musical events and festivals.
For the slightly more rugged tourist and avid naturalist, St. John offers a more pristine and uninhabited option to the more populated St. Croix. Also, known as USVI’s smallest island, St. John’s pristineness is perfect for those who yearn to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. About 60 percent of the island is a protected national park and most of the accommodations found on the island are designed to blend in with the natural beauty. St. John is also known for some of the best scuba diving in the world with its crystal clear waters and vibrant marine life and coral reefs.
Just due west of St. John is the island of St. Thomas. Although smaller than St. Croix, St. Thomas offers tourists great cultural excursion as well as a great variety of accommodations. Visitors can choose between a classy resort to more intimate inns, bed and breakfast accommodations, or villas. Even though there is a lot to do, a secluded quiet beach is never far away in St. Thomas.
You will never run out of things to do in the US Virgin Islands no matter which island you decide to stay in. You can charter a fishing boat in St. Croix and spend the afternoon catching bonitos and drinking beer under the tropical sun. Or, you can take out your resort’s catamaran for a quiet sunset sail. Imagine spending all day snorkeling in a secluded cay off of St. John to then later unwind at a beachfront restaurant listening to calypso music.
Finally, we recommend that you simply find yourself at a beach facing the setting sun and do absolutely nothing but listen to the soft sound of waves and sand as the arms of the Caribbean take you in its embrace.
Meetings and Convention take on a whole new meaning when they are hosted in the US
Virgin Islands. See why the world’s most memorable meetings happen in the Caribbean.

The best time to visit the U.S. Virgin Islands is April to June, when you can expect
mild weather and very little rainfall. In the USVI's peak season, from December to
March, the temperature ranges from the mid 70s to high 80s with breezy evenings.
July to October is the region's hurricane season with average temps in the upper
80s.
There are two major airports in the Virgin Islands; the Cyril E. King Airport on
St. Thomas and the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport on St. Croix.
Non-stop and connecting service from the US mainland to St. Thomas and St. Croix
are available. Most flights make connections in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Flights on
inter-island carriers can be made from San Juan to St. Thomas and St. Croix and between
islands.
