One World Trade Center in New York City, New York, opened in November 2014 to honor the victims of the September 11 attacks on the Twin Towers. At 541 meters, it’s the tallest skyscraper in the western hemisphere, and there’s no better way to experience this staggering scale than by taking a thrilling elevator ride up to One World Observatory. Spanning the building’s top three floors, it offers stunning 360-degree views of the city, as well as guided tours and interactive maps. Cap off your visit on the 101st floor with a handcrafted cocktail and a multi-course meal at ONE Dine.

The Crazy Horse Memorial pays tribute not only to the legendary Lakota warrior himself, but to all Native American people. Located in the spectacular Black Hills of South Dakota, its main attraction is the work-in-progress mountainside sculpture of Crazy Horse that, when completed, will be the world’s largest monumental carving. Visit the memorial’s museums filled with exhibits exploring the rich cultural heritage of over 300 Indigenous Nations. Elsewhere on the grounds, enjoy a colorful dance performance or tighten your laces and join the Volksmarch – a 10-kilometer, biannual hike from the parking lot all the way to the Arm of Crazy Horse.
