HAWAII - America’s Island Paradise
The People of Hawaii would like to share their Islands with you. When you think of Hawaii you conjure up visions of grass skirts, floral leis and hula dancing. Surfing, sunshine and bright blue seas spring to mind but there is so much more to this state than that.
The Hawaiian islands consist of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui and Hawaii Big Island and they are like nowhere else on earth with each island having its own unique features.
Most visitors will fly into Honolulu International Airport on Oahu, the third largest island in the group and you can fly there from anywhere in the world.
Honolulu is a good base with its famous Waikiki Beach and from there you can undertake one of the most moving and historical excursions you will ever do. A must for all visitors to Hawaii is to take a trip out to Pearl Harbor, the lagoon west of Honolulu where you you can travel on a navy launch to the Arizona Memorial, site of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. It is an eerie experience but one you will never forget.
You should also visit the Volcanoes National Park where you may even see an active volcano. Attractions here include the well known Rainbow Falls and the Kilauea Iki crater.
You cannot visit the Hawaiian islands without seeing their unique hula dancing which is accompanied by chanting or singing telling the stories and traditions of Hawaii.
Food includes a lot of fish, shrimps, crabs and creamy seafood as well as chicken and pork. Deserts are exotic like the tropical cocktails they serve along with rum punch. You will find mango, pineapple and coconut used in a lot of the sweets.
One thing is certain when you visit these islands you will immediately fall in love with the place, the friendliness of the people, the spiritual beauty of the hula dancing, the unique features of each island and the historical impact of Pearl Harbor.
You will fly away with a heavy heart, counting the days until you can return to Hawaii.

Honolulu International Airport (HNL) on Oahu is Hawaii's major airport, serving as
the entry point for most of Hawaii's visitors. All major domestic carriers and many
international carriers serve Oahu, so you can get here from just about anywhere.
There are also direct flights from the U.S. mainland to Maui, Kauai, and Hawaii Island,
but for the most part, you may need to connect through Oahu to get to the neighbor
islands including Lanai and Molokai. There are daily ferry services from Lahaina
Harbor in Maui to both Manele Bay in Lanai and Kaunakakai Harbor in Molokai.
