- You’ll need an e-passport with a digital chip that will be valid for at least six months beyond your stay in the USA.
- Unless you’re visiting from a Visa Waver Program country and have obtained ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) approval, you’ll need a visa to visit the USA.
- If you are a citizen of a country participating in the Visa Waiver Program, you can stay for up to 90 days without needing a visa. Travelers using a B1 visa need to declare their length of visit at customs.
- Even with a valid visa or ESTA approval, CBP decides entry at the port of entry. Stay calm and be prepared to answer questions clearly, completely and truthfully about your visit including plans, finances, accommodations and length of stay.
